Welcome! My name is Helen Textor, and I am an NYC based actor, writer, dancer and model. I'm a proud member of the Elon University graduating class of 2020 where I received a BFA in Theatre Arts and a minor in Dance. I’ve spent my life as an artist and performer, whether it was by taking beginner ballet lessons with other toddlers in Kansas City or singing and acting at The Patel Conservatory in Downtown Tampa as a high school student. For the last few years, my journey as an artist brought me to New York City, where I bartend by day and write, perform and create by night.
During the Fall of 2018 I was able to study abroad at the Theatre Academy London where I fine tuned my acting skills, as well as studied play writing, stage combat and movement. My love for the stage and storytelling began with dancing, and I was able to continue to hone my technique through my Dance minor at Elon. I developed a passion and ability for learning and teaching dialects and accents for the stage and was able to dialect coach multiple productions at Elon from 2019-2020.
While living in New York, I've spent my time performing in play festivals and on off-Broadway stages, collaborated on feature film productions as a production manager, and published my first book of poetry entitled 'Harlem Penthouse' about the trials of learning to "walk the walk" through the city as a young woman chasing down her dreams. When not performing or writing, I love to read, get into the outdoors, collaborate with photographers as a model, collect refrigerator magnets from all over the world, and conquer a new art skill or craft at home in Harlem. Creating often fails to pay the bills at my stage of the career, so I've been indulging in the sacred art of bartending for the past four years in some of the busiest restaurants in NYC.
Currently, I'm spending the spring and summer of 2025 in Tampa, Florida working towards my sommelier certifications in the wine cellar at the world renown Bern's Steakhouse, as well as working on my second full collection of poetry and independent writing pieces. See you at the beach!

Upcoming Projects
Helen made a dream come true in February by performing pieces from her recently published book of poetry, HARLEM PENTHOUSE, at a self-curated poetry night event at Fiction Bar in Brooklyn. Her and her amazing guest poets (Rony Ortiz Andrade, Maya Imani Jones, Madeline Hudelson) had a blast performing for you. Check out her first published collection at the link below!

Oh, what fun...
